On or about February12, 2007 a company named Ardent
 Resources was drilling
 for Natural Gas near the town of Brookfield. I think
 they are affiliated
 with Nornew. As part of the drilling process, they
 forced compressed air
 into the well. The well was over- pressurized,
 forcing air northward through
 the aquefer to North Brookfield, where several
 private wells were disturbed,
 resulting in muddy water and bubbles in the wells.

 residents reported seeing bubbles coming up in the
 creekbed that runs
 through town. Some residents claim that they now
 have sulfur in thier water.
 The drilling company brought in a water testing
 company to check the
 affected wells and installed water treatment systems
 in the affected
 homes.There are three articles about it in the

 Archives, one  is  dated Feb 13, 2007 "Test Disrupts
 Water..."   The EPA

 regulations-to include how drilling wastes are to be
 disposed of.  Some
 wastes produced while mining or drilling for energy
 sources (oil, Gas etc)
 are exempt from hazardous waste regulations, cant
 remember why right now but
 will find out.. One thing we found out was that the
 company that is drilling
 in Madison County is using  Hydrochloric acid to
 clean out the wells.
 Residents were upset when they saw a tanker truck of
 Hydrochloric acid
 heading toward the drilling site so they called the
 county health
 department. We checked the regulations and indeed
 they can use it  and
 neutralize it onsite for disposal. Are they keeping
 it out of the water
 table? I Hope so.The NYS DEC issues permits for
 drilling, check
 dec.ny.gov/energy/ also on DEC website you can find
 maps of gas wells in
 NYS. There are two abandoned gas wells on our
 osceola property somewhere.

 starting to believe that
