There is considerable radioactivity from gas drilling on the Barnett shale - see section on NORM  (Normally Occurring Radioactive Materials) on the video page on the www.FWcando.org  website.  And in many references the Barnett shale is described as having considerable radioactivity, the pumping of materials in and out of the wells accumulates the NORM on pipes, fittings, scale on the equipment and in oils.  These materials are sometimes spilled and results in surface contamination.  I have seen no references to radioactivity in gas in the pipeline or surface, I assume into the air, release of radon - this could simply be because no one is measuring.
