In his "Happy as a Hangman" 12/06/10 Truthdig article, Chris Hedges described America's working class people as having been "transformed... into terrified people in fragmented pools preoccupied with the struggle of private existence."
There's been another transformation of people that's even worse.
The fundamental reason natural persons cannot prevail in America is that unnatural things have replaced natural persons.
Corporations are not natural persons.
Piles of money are not natural persons.
The solutions for the problems natural persons have must come from people working with other people, together with Nature. Good solutions for natural person problems won't ever come from non-person unnatural things.
The corporate state (with Ralph Nader unwittingly aiding it) purposefully transformed near all the people of America into consumers — into something less than whole persons — created for the sole purpose of purchasing too many things not needed... until the things own the owners.
Now consumers are self-mutilatingly mutating themselves into things. The internet is populated by more avatars than people. An avatar is a consumer who has consumed s/himself — transformed themself into a thing that is no longer a person... into the product of a person who has murdered their own personhood.
We don't have democracy in America because there are too many Democrats.
We may not have the People's Party politically needed for natural persons because there are too few people surviving, with so many people having become avatars — having chosen to become inanimate things — things that are no more natural, nor persons, than "corporate persons" are.
An avatar is a not real world existing thing pretending to be a person.
